Florence –
capital of Tuscany and one of the most important
Renaissance architectural and art centers. Find yourself
amongst the great Italian artists including Botticelli,
Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo in the Uffizi

Siena -
is a classic medieval hill town in Tuscany famous for
its large fan-shaped piazza, Piazza del Campo, and
summer horse-race, known as Il Palio. Siena's tall bell
tower, Torre del Mangia, offers a spectacular view of
the surrounding area. Siena is known for its abundance
of shoe, jewelry and ceramic shops. This is also the
location to buy linens. The city center remains as it
was in medieval times, well-preserved and completely
devoid of cars.
San Gimignano - known as
the City of Beautiful Towers, this classic medieval
walled hill town in Tuscany is famous for its 14
surviving medieval towers creating a beautiful skyline
visible from the surrounding countryside.
Arezzo – offers splendid landscapes where
famous monastic settlements completely surrounded by
century-old trees exist. This charming town is also
known for its medieval architecture. Shoppers will enjoy
Arezzo's goldsmiths, jewelers, and antiques. The Piazza
Grande, a huge flea market that resembles an outdoor
museum takes place the first weekend of the month.
Cortona - is the Tuscan hill town made famous
by Francis Mayes in her book Under the Tuscan Sun.
Cortona is surrounded by Etruscan walls, around 3000
years old, and retains much of its history through its
architecture, layers of history built upon the Etruscan
core. Cortona has stately buildings, interesting
medieval architecture and beautiful views. Saturday
mornings the outdoor market is open. There are a good
amount of antique shops and other shops selling unique
goods and crafts.
Perugia - a city perched on its hilltop
overlooking the valleys of Umbria, totally encircled by
walls (Etruscan, Roman and Medieval). It is one of the
major archeological centers of Etruscan remains. The
city is star shaped and about 500 meters above sea
level. Perugia is a walker’s paradise. As you walk
around the town, there are wonderful views over the
valleys.
